Seth Rogen Officially Initiated As A Brother of Pi Kappa Alpha (PIKE)

After PIKE at the University of Vermont had raised the most money for Seth Rogen’s charity for the fourth year in a row, Rogen told them that he would officially join them as as a brother in their chapter, and their fraternity nationwide. PIKE’s twitter account announced the initiation of the national superstar immediately after it had concluded.

Seth Rogen also tweeted on his personal account about officially becoming a brother of the University of Vermont’s chapter.

After doing a little research, it appears Rogen has a great history with the brothers of Pi Kappa Alpha at the University of Vermont.

“Rogen, an actor, comedian, charity founder and beloved pot icon, visited Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity and Alpha Chi Omega sorority alongside his wife Lauren at Essex Cinema April 23.

This year marks the third year in a row Pi Kappa Alpha and Alpha Chi Omega have won the Hilarity for Charity competition.

They have raised $28,301 this year alone for Rogen’s Alzheimer’s foundation and over $70,000 cumulatively.
Hilarity for Charity was started by Rogen and Miller after her mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease.

Rogen described the brothers as “the Lakers of charity.”

In a world where the only thing you see on the news about greek life is the negative things such as “boy drinks bleach at a party and dies,” and “young man buttchugs beer and ends up in ICU.” It’s nice to see somebody with such a global influence give a chapter such a huge honor.

Mr. Rogen, today you have brought some light to the greek community across the country, and for that you are appreciated.

Colorado State Sorority Gets Bodied By A Campus Officer

We live in a time where every single thing is captured on video thanks to our phones. If this was 10 years ago and I told you a Fort Collins police officer found this small, Colorado State University sorority girl as a threat and body slammed her face first into the concrete then there’s no way you’d believe me. But thankfully someone was filming Michaella Surat getting thrown down into the pavement by what seems to be a very overzealous, and eager police officer.

El Taco, writer for Total Frat Move actually said this in response to this police officer’s outlash:

“It appears Todd Storm, overzealous campus police officer, watched a tad too much Wrestlemania last weekend. Personally, I would’ve gone with the jackknife powerbomb. If it works on The Undertaker then it’ll work on a sorority girl. Just neutralizing a threat. Another day at the office.”

According to reports, officers were called to the Bondi Beach Bar to breakup a disturbance between Surat’s boyfriend and another man. Police say Surat “shoulder-checked the bouncer and an officer and then pulled her boyfriend from the area.” Police then reportedly told Surat her boyfriend wasn’t free to go and that’s when this whole thing went down. She was arrested on charges of third-degree assault and obstructing a peace officer.

The police department released a statement and didn’t seem to be placing any of the blame on the officer in question.

Even the whole case will come down to “Police vs. drunken idiots who can’t hang,” this is going to be a fun one to watch play out.
