We live in a time where every single thing is captured on video thanks to our phones. If this was 10 years ago and I told you a Fort Collins police officer found this small, Colorado State University sorority girl as a threat and body slammed her face first into the concrete then there’s no way you’d believe me. But thankfully someone was filming Michaella Surat getting thrown down into the pavement by what seems to be a very overzealous, and eager police officer.
El Taco, writer for Total Frat Move actually said this in response to this police officer’s outlash:
“It appears Todd Storm, overzealous campus police officer, watched a tad too much Wrestlemania last weekend. Personally, I would’ve gone with the jackknife powerbomb. If it works on The Undertaker then it’ll work on a sorority girl. Just neutralizing a threat. Another day at the office.”
According to reports, officers were called to the Bondi Beach Bar to breakup a disturbance between Surat’s boyfriend and another man. Police say Surat “shoulder-checked the bouncer and an officer and then pulled her boyfriend from the area.” Police then reportedly told Surat her boyfriend wasn’t free to go and that’s when this whole thing went down. She was arrested on charges of third-degree assault and obstructing a peace officer.
The police department released a statement and didn’t seem to be placing any of the blame on the officer in question.
Even the whole case will come down to “Police vs. drunken idiots who can’t hang,” this is going to be a fun one to watch play out.
